Rise of the Independents (part 1) - JEANETTE`S

This week I stopped at JEANETTE`S. Parked in a converted garage just off Redchurch Street it`s a must see east end destination. Hidden behind a Labyrinth facade of doors, locally sourced and designed by set designer TONY HORNECKER, it is truly the most beautiful barricade I have ever seen...

From the outside the shop resembles a chameleon , using the rough and grafittied aesthetic of the area, transforming into an original and personal exterior, very much like Jeanette herself.

Half expecting Jeanette to sit on the door, I stepped in, a bit on edge of whether I would be approved. It takes me back to the feeling of queuing up for FAMILY waiting to be judged.. (Then wearing a red wool, jumpsuit dress and cassette tapes)

In the current heat wave , JEANETTE`S is like an oasis. A beautiful landscape of fashion scenery, full of forbidden fruits and exotic animals. Check out CHRISTOPHER KANE Leopard print, and Gorilla tops!

For a Killing outfit, get your teeth into :

CHRISTOPHER KANE
GILES DEACON
JAMES LONG
JOE CASELY- HAYFORD
KIM JONES
LOUISE GRAY
NOKI
RICHARD NICOLL

Pick up great accessories by JUDY (who can ) BLAME (you) and step out in safari boots by NOKI.
JESSICA OGDEN Pencil drawing dress is also amazing! You will need an award winning MARK TITCHNER T-Shirt and there`s plenty of vintage too; including MONTANA, MUGLER and COMMES!

As JJ (Hudson) aka NOKI was minding the shop, he updated me on all things NOKI and I managed to get some great portraits, one of which he agreed to be Branded by THE CONVENIENCE STORE tape!

I´ll be back soon, hopefully with some spending power!

DON´T BE A DORIS, BE A JANET!

GO TO JEANETTE´S!
